S’zanne Reynolds
“Big Sky and Open Road,” is the mantra of traveling artist and roadside photographer, S’zanne Reynolds. Her impressionistic and bold creations draw upon her travels of the untamed Wild West. You will find yourself in her paintings beside a campfire, peering over waterfalls, sheltering in a rustic old barn, hanging on a cliff or chatting up the local grocer.
Reynolds was about 16 when she came upon Wolf Kahn’s artwork; it was love at first sight, and, from then on, she wanted to be an artist. With a BA in Studio Art from Principia College and post-graduate studies in France, she discovered her love of travel in her painting explorations abroad, including Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, England and the Netherlands.
Upon returning to the States, she completed a BFA in Communications from TCU, and embarked on a 15 year career in the advertising and publishing industries with companies like SicolaMartin, GSD&M and Harcourt.
In 2003 Reynolds returned to her first love of fine art and photography, studying under present-day masters including Ann Templeton, Huihan Liu, Nancy Bush, Dave Santillanes, Edward Povey and Randy Kerr. Her creative influences number among Nicholai Timkov, Paul Gauguin, Frida Kahlo, the Blue Rider expressionists and Canada’s Group of Seven.
